Meet Our General Agents
Nicholas S. Preddice
A native of Albany, NY, Nick Preddice started his financial services career almost twenty years ago, working first for Connecticut Mutual, and later for Prudential. He found success early, and was appointed Managing Director at MONY in New York City.
In 2002 Nick joined MassMutual and took over as the General Agent of MassMutual Albany. Under Nick’s leadership, the agency has grown both in size, and in its positive impact on the local community. The agency actively supports a number of causes, including Special Olympics, Wildwood School, Proctors Theater, and Down Syndrome/Aim High Resource Center.
A chance invitation to a fundraiser for Wildwood Foundation, a school for autistic children, opened Nick’s eyes and heart to the needs of local non-profits. Today, Nick is an Executive Cabinet member of the Wildwood Foundation, and acts as Treasurer and Chair of the Wildwood Foundation Investment Committee.
Nick is Immediate Past President of the Capital District Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, a member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization and he actively supports many other charitable organizations. In 2006 The Business Review named Nick in its “Forty Under Forty” — a list of forty young movers and shakers in business in the Albany area.
In his free time, Nick enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their two sons.
In December of 2010, MassMutual Albany was proud to announce that Gary Sancilio had joined its leadership team as Co-General Agent. In his new role, Gary collaborates closely with Nick Preddice, Co-General Agent, to oversee the growing sales organization.
Gary started his career in financial services in 1987, working for several financial service firms, including John Hancock and the financial planning firm AYCO. Early on in his career Gary recognized the stark difference between focusing on the client relationship and selling a product. The experience gave him an appreciation for the importance of building lasting client relationships. Gary's unique personal coaching style, combined with a practical solutions-oriented approach to wealth management led him to success. In 2002, he and Nick Preddice partnered to launch The Affinity Group, LLC.
Gary's career path as a financial coach has always run parallel with an interest in law. Gary received his law degree from St. John's University of Law. He served as an Appellate Court Attorney with the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, and as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City. Eventually, he relocated to the Albany area, and went into private practice. Though he no longer is a practicing attorney, he remains a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association. He frequently speaks on financial planning to various groups, including financial advisors and the American Bar Association.
Gary's personal financial planning practice is concentrated in the areas of financial and estate analysis, wealth management and transfers, elder law care planning, estate administration, estate and gift taxation, business and succession planning.
Gary and his family reside in Delmar, NY.
Gary Sancilio does not practice law on behalf of MML Investors Services, LCC, or MassMutual.
